**UCR Waitlist Discussion for Class of 2024**

I wonder if they extended because not enough people SIR to UCR, if so I hope they let in everyone who was waitlisted!

@user136130007 I think it was because of the pandemic

Hey everyone, I know this is a bit late but I would like to help. I was waitlisted to UCR on 3/26 I believe and I got off the waitlist on 4/24. I applied for psychology as my major but was accepted for my alternate major, History. I SIR’d to UCR but I do not know if I will be attending yet because I am waiting to hear back from UCSC (waitlist).
STATS:3.41 GPA, 1110 SAT Score, lots of extracurriculars, good PIQ’s.

@aggiefern lucky!! i applied for psychology too and they told me that if they had space they would offer me a spot for psychology, but I still haven’t heard back, I hope I hear from them soon

I really hope I get off the waitlist, I haven’t heard from them yet tho…

my stats:

Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.9
SAT: 1070
Lots of clubs/extracurriculars

I had my primary major as psychology but then I switched it to Biology before the admissions came out with the decisions…

Anyone else receive a financial aid package this morning ? I haven’t been admitted thou. Could this be a good sign?

@kyz2020 I got a financial aid packet like two weeks ago but I’m still on the waitlist

Does anyone know when the waitlist decesions come out?

has anyone else been taken off the waitlist??

How do I check what major I’m waitlisted for? Also, was the SIR date extended due to low SIR’s from admitted students? Did other UC’s extend their SIR date?

Only UC Merced and UC Riverside extended their respective SIR deadlines to May 15. I believe it might be because the amount of students who didn’t accept their admission was overwhelmingly high.

I know UCR extended their SIR deadlines cause a lot of people didn’t commit there but every single person I know that got into UCR isn’t even going there

How do you know if UCR or UCM extended the SIR date? Where did they announce it? If possible, please leave a credible link. Thanks.

So does this mean there might be a higher percentage of people getting off the waitlist this year?

I got into Merced and they sent out an email.

@jontroy: check out the first page on the link: https://admissions.ucr.edu/freshman

Why is it taking so long for them to begin accepting more off the waitlist? ugh. Has anyone heard anything back?

@Grumbymom Since they extended the SIR date because not enough people are accepting admission do you think that this will most likely equate to a higher percentage of people being accepted off the wait list this year?

Hey guys, I read last years waitlist threads and some were saying they didn’t get accepted or declined until July…but I also read that some were accepted in May. I’m guessing things changed cause of the new SIR date.
