What is so bad about UCR?

it isn't bad. it's still one of the better universities in the nation. fact is however, it is at the bottom tier of california universities. everyone who is elgible gets accepted to UCR. have you ever wondered where the pothead that sits next to you in class will attend college? chances are if you live in california, he is going to UCR.

UCR is the "trash collector" of all UC Applicants. Since the UC Campuses need to admit all eligible california residents, if the "crack head" students don't get into any UC (90% probability), they will most likely be accepted to UCR. In other words, UCR is left with the leftovers of the UC applicants.

There's probably more talk about UC Riverside on these boards than any other UC because it supposedly sucks so badly.

Dont take their word though. If you want to go to grad school, you can easily get a 4.0 at Riverside and make it to Berkeley, UCLA, or the like.
