If I receive a bad GPA in sophomore and freshman year but receive GPAs over 4.0 in junior and senior will I still have a chance to go to a UC? (UCI,UCLA,UCD,UCD). Also if my SAT score is 2200 and my major is nursing. I also volunteered at fountain valley hospital from the summer of my soph year till now

what is your UC GPA, depending on how bad it was, you probably still have a good chance

UC’s use 10-11th grades for their UC GPA calculation. Senior grades are not factored into admissions. Good Senior grades will help you keep your UC provisional acceptance. An upward trend in your GPA will help your chances and you can address your low GPA in one of your essays.
Your SAT score is competitive, but most of the UC’s are GPA focused. It makes sense, since the SAT/ACT is only 1 day out of your academice career, but your GPA is 3 years…

Since you are going into a very competitive major, you will need around a UC GPA 4.0 or higher for most of the UC’s: UCLA/UCB/UCSD/UCI/UCSB/UCD. If your UC GPA is below 3.8, UCSC/UCR/UCM may be your only options. I would also suggest you check out SDSU for nursing. For competitive stat applicants, they have a direct admit nursing program so you guaranteed a spot in their program instead of just being accepted into the pre-nursing major.
