is it true that certain UCs want letters of rec? if so which ones?

I heard some do, but I highly doubt it since UCs dont ask for letters of rec from freshmans so iono it didn't make sense for transfers...

They don't ask for letters of rec.

This is what will happen:

adcom #1: "huh, what the hell is this?"
adcom #2: "oh it must be the letter of rec..."
adcom #1: "ugh... getting tired of this crap" *roll eyes and tosses the letter into the incinerator.

:) you get the picture.

yeah UCs don't accept letters of rec. they only require letters of rec WHEN you are pre-qualified for scholarships (AFTER the app process). (so make sure you check off all those optional questionairres in the first part of the app)

They get sent to a processing center so Dhl3's scenario is wrong.

God for figurative speech.....

Sorry for being a douche. I'm just not very fond of people that bash on UCLA or similar schools.

why would I bash on school that I plan on attending?
most of my "bashings" (although I do not consider them as bashing) on UCLA are done in comparison to other more prestigious schools that others would agree to, such as Berkeley and Wharton.

Also, if you read all of my posts, you should notice that I actually praise UCLA as much as I "bash", if not more. Fair amount of threads started by me criticize people who think that Ann Arbor and UVA is one step above UCLA, and question those who underestimate prestige of UCLA.

So excuse me if I sounded so contemptious of UCLA, cuz in reality, I'm a big fan and an advocate of the school.
