UC's and SAT II Scores

For the UC's, I've heard that Math Level II is recommended. Is this true or does this mainly apply to engineering majors?

Also, I have already taken SAT II Literature and SAT II Chinese, and am going to take U.S. History in December. In the subject test section for the UC app, do I input the Literature and Chinese Scores, and the planned test date for U.S. History? I'm confused because I know that the UC's only require two SAT II scores, and the December test scores come out after the app is due. Would it be a risk to input the December test scores?

Thanks!

Math Level II is recommended however you do not need to take it. If you take a math subject test however, they recommend (require) you to take Math Level II.

Put in your test dates and scores for Literature and Chinese. Then place December 2007 as the test date with a blank score for US History. They understand that that means you have not taken it yet and cannot submit a score along with your application because the due date is the end of this month. Make sure to send them the scores from the College Board though.

So would taking Math Level II make me more competitive for admission? I have to admit, math is not my strongest subject.

Thanks for the reply Rick :)

I’m not too sure about that but since you’re taking US History, I’d advise you on taking Math II as your second test on that sitting.

Math 2 is only recommended (well, required) for engineering. It’s a plus for College of Chemistry, as well.

If you are applying to Letters & Sciences, put down your two best scores bcos L&S doesn’t care. But, strength in two different subject areas helps one stand out at Cal and UCLA.
