Have u guys seen anyonw accepted to any of those colleges with similar stats? Do I have any shot? Thanks.

ucla reach

how much of a reach?

i think LA is a big reach, but u never know. if your essays are good, you have somewhat of a chance. but your GPA/SATs might be too low for UCLA and SD because they highly value those 2 factors..but u have a chance

Has anyone in like history ever been accepted at those schools with such a low GPA

I have a 3.4 W and a 3.35 UW and I've gotten into every state school I've applied to so far. I also applied to UC's and a few privates - I think I have a very good chance. We're somewhat similar - I haev a 2010 composite and 1940 single sitting, and a 30 on my ACT. You'll be fine - just keep in mind that colleges dont only accept students with 4.0+ GPA's. They assess a persons situation and come to an admission decision based on that. Generally speaking, youre on the midlower end of the spectrum like me so generally speaking some might be a problem, but youll get in to a few.

amiradaprincess:

UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Reach
UCI: Slight Reach
UCR: Match

The Big Question is: Has anyone gotten in with these stats that you guys know of?

How do you know your USC GPA? How do they weight it? Please answer this question amirada princess, It's been bothering me...a lot...

Since you're a resident, I think you can get into UCSD and UCI with good personal parts of the application (Recs, Essays.)

UCR is a safety for you in my opinion.

UCLA is tough....but still possible.

My USC gpa is my weighted GPA excluding PE and classes USC doesn't count.

How do you weight your GPA (4 pts for A, 3 for B...) and 1 pt extra for AP's...? Explain how you weight your GPA...

Are you sure that this is how it works?

Actually 1 point extra for Honors classes (which assumes AP) but only if you got an A or a B, dont add an extra point for C's D's or F's

Ex. you get a B in honors english 12, you would get 3 points - but since its honors you get 4. So a B in honors is like an A in a lower class
