Schools I want a chance in!
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
California State University Fullerton
San Diego State University
UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC Los Angeles
UC Riverside
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
Ehhh let's throw in USC. (hahaha!)

OKAY THANKS FOR READING! (: I'm glad you guys made it so far. Now please chance me? (:

UCB/UCLA/UCSD/USC-Big Reach (It can still happen, but not at all easy)
UCD/UCI/UCSB-Reach (More Likely, but still by no means remotely guaranteed)
CP P/SDSU-Slight Reach/Match
UCR/CSUF-Match

If you could get your SAT scores up to 2000+, you'd be more competitive with the mid tier UCs and more safe with the upper tier CSUs.

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona--Safe Match to Match
California State University Fullerton-Match
San Diego State University--Match to Slight Reach
UC Berkeley--Reach
UC Davis--Slight Reach
UC Irvine--Slight Reach
UC Los Angeles--Reach
UC Riverside--Match
UC San Diego--Slight Reach to Reach
UC Santa Barbara--Slight Reach
USC--Reach

And I'm going to add in:
UC Santa Cruz--Match (actually your best overall match --which is why I added it). (Also, UCR is a really good match)

Also, why didn't you put Cal State Long Beach on here (you're a match there, too)

Best of luck.

A good community college such as Santa Monica College or Pasadena City College can be a transfer option as well. It's cheaper and you have a better chance of getting into the top tier schools if you do well.

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona: match
California State University Fullerton: match
San Diego State University: match
UC Berkeley: big reach
UC Davis: reach - slight reach
UC Irvine: reach - slight reach
UC Los Angeles: big reach
UC Riverside: match
UC San Diego: reach
UC Santa Barbara: reach - slight reach
USC: reach

So what do you guys recommend I do inorder to get into UCSD? Because I really would like to go there. (:

The best way to get there is to transfer. Spend 2 years at a JC and then transfer junior year. At this point, you can't change much. You can't change the fact that your GPA is .6 below the average, and changing your SAT to a competitive score would entail getting it to 2200ish to compensate for the amount of lost points. You get a lot of points for your low income status and parent's education, but everything still comes back to the GPA. If you're still interested in getting in as an undergraduate, chance yourself here:
http://www.geocities.com/kisasong/UCSDComprehensive.htm

tszyan, go ahead and apply. If you don't get in, go to a community college for 2 years and transfer like Peppers and I suggested above. I know attending a community college may not be the biggest boost to your pride, but it will be a cheaper option. When you put on your resume that you graduated from UCSD no employer is going to care that you transferred.

Good luck.

i predict that you will get into UCI

wow, how freaky. This guy got accepted into UCI and UCD, but waitlisted at SDSU (a CSU).
