Hi guys. I was wondering if the UC's take a look at your application/gpa before the January grade update, or if they wait till grades are updated in January, then take a look at your transcripts.

I'm asking this because my grades were horrible at the time of my application submission. GPA was 2.48. But, with my grades from this fall semester + academic renewal, I will be over a 3.0. So I was just wondering if they wait till grades are updated before looking at the applications. Because if not, my chances of getting accepted anywhere are pretty much extremely slim.

In addition: Starting March, the decisions are usually made. Interestingly enough, UCR seems to release the results earlier than other UCs.

Exceptions:
For UCLA and Cal: Around April and May. This is probably due to the fact that UCLA has the most applicants while Cal has an additional information evaluation (extra form that you need to fill out after you send the official application).

Hello to UCD alumni. I'm also officially an UCLA alumni! :D

ha, they probably dont even touch our apps until late february to march, considering the fact that they gotta deal with freshmen first for march
