UC's??? or cal poly?

If you guys could please tell me what UCs i could get into that would be greatly appreciated. this is just based off of my sophmore and junior year.

W GPA : 3.83 - 3.95

honors + AP = AP US history, honors physics, honors math anal, and honors spanish III

SAT: 2050

VP racquet club, interact club, JV tennis 1 year and varsity tennis 2 years, math club, varsity speech and debate 3 years, 200 hours of volunteer work, and i am looking to take summer courses at UCLA or UCB.

I got two C's my sophmore year because i had terrible sinus infections and was pretty much hospitalized for a week because of the infections. I had surgery over my sophmore summer and my grades have improved and i have a pretty tough schedule and am getting mostly B's :/

i also live in California and come from a competitive school.

sorry for the trouble and thanks once again.

Hey
I think you have a good shot at UCSD and all UCs 'below' it. You still have a shot at UCLA/B even if it's not a great one. Your GPA and scores are a bit below average for those two schools, but you do have a chance IMO
Cal Poly is often compared to the mid-tier UCs (D, I, SB) so you should get in with no problems

Your scores are not below Cal's standards, but your gpa is rather low.

If you are in the top 4% of your class you are in great shape (you're probably not I know due to your GPA), but even if you are not you still have a reasonable chance of being admitted to UCB AND UCLA.

Edit: The upper UC's generally emphasize your GPA and secondary school record more than SAT scores anyway.

thanks a lot guys for your help

i have a few more questions though.

-could i get into UCSD with a 3.8 gpa?
-also which school would be more benefitial in getting a job that will hopefully land me a spot in a grad business school. (UCSD, UCI, or Cal Poly).

thanks a lot

Well, UCSD has more recognition than the aforementioned schools and from what I have read and heard has a great business department. Evidently, UCB's is definitely more renowned and was actually ranked 3rd (if rankings matter to you of course) in the U.S. News rankings. I believe you have a reasonable chance at all that you are applying to, but no one on this forum can accurately assess your chances. We are not admission officers.

sorry a bit random but under ur AP's i saw "math anal"
i thought that was funny =], no spam intended but i do believe u stand a good chance at ucsd much more than the others

haha i probably should have said "math analysis". But anyways, thanks a lot for the help guys i really appreciate it.

feezy:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach
UCSD: Match
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Safe Match
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safety

Actually, UCSD has no undergraduate business school--you can get into Econ with an Accounting emphasis, though.

Cal Poly does offer business courses--and they are good, though tough.

UCB (Berkeley) does have a business school--but you can't apply until your junior year--and it's tough to get in. You need to have a 3.62 or so at Berkeley, or about a 3.91 from a different UC to get into the program.

As far as going to grad school--all the schools are good ones--and you should be able to get into grad school from any of them if you do well as an undergraduate.

Sorry, I confused it with the graduate program.
