I'm a California community college student looking to transfer to a UC in fall of 2014. I'm signing the TAG at my school this september with either santa barbara, san diego, or davis. I am a communications major.

Here's the thing; my dream school is Los Angeles, one of the two schools not participating in the TAG program. My academic profile is nowhere near what ucla is looking at. Communication studies at ucla requires the minimum of a 3.5gpa, with about a 10% acceptance rate into the major because it is very impacted.

I have a 3.51gpa as of right now. By the end of this fall semester, I will have completed all but one of my prereq's for the major. My main concern right now is my GPA. If I do well this fall, will they take into account those grades as well?

Also, what can I do to make myself look "more competitive"? I participate in a few extracurricular activities but don't really have anything to do with comm. (winterguard, debate)
I also work 15-20 hours a week. Office receptionist.

I know I have a very slim chance of getting in, but I'm going to try my hardest to do all that it takes. What more can I do?
