Your test scores are excellent, especially your SAT II's. The key to getting a better idea of your chances though, lies in your GPA...which poses the question: What has been your courseload over the years?

ldcubed, i've taken a very rigorous courseload throughout highschool. Currently taking 4 APs.

Have you exceeded UC requirements in all or most areas? In other words, taken 4 years of science instead of 3, 4 years of language instead of 2, etc. If so, your chances are pretty good for most of the UC's with the exception of UCB and UCLA where your GPA may hold you back a bit unfortunately. Best of luck.

Thanx carolyn, and yes, I have exceeded UC requirements in virtually every category.

Bump. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention i'm a CA resident...

Anyone?.........

Bump. Please.....

Any Cali people out there that can offer some insight??

Bump.......

hey...
im applyin to a lot of the same UC's. my GPA and SAT I are higher, but SAT II's are lower. I'd say u should be able to get into all of em (dependin on your EC's). Berkeley and LA may be a lil reach, but u definately have a good shot.

Thanx CaliJumpa, you think I got a realistic shot at UCSD??

yea, probably

Can anyone else gimme some predictions............

Smiffer88:

How are your ECs?

UCB: Slight Reach
UCLA: Slight Reach
UCSD: Match
UCD: Safety
UCSB: Safety
UCI: Safety

Thanx flopsy, I'd say my ECs are average. Do you really think that UCSB, UCD, and UCI are safeties?? Anyone else have an opinion?

If you don't have a 4.0 gpa weighted, I think Berkeley and UCLa are hard to get into for anybody.
Exception, you are in the top 4% of your grade.

Thanks ahead to anyone who replies to my post. Please respond people I value your input!!!

(also applying to UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Davis, UC Berkeley, and UC Riverside)

AP Results:

Current Class Schedule:

EC's:
Japanese Club
Red Cross
CSF (California Scholarship Federation)
NHS (National Honor Society)
100+ hours of community service

Note* I'd have to say my weakest area is my EC's. I belong to several clubs and I did participate but I wasn't that active (at least be a "super member") or hold an officer position in any of them. I also never participated in any sports or play in band or orchestra. Worst of all, I completely regret not having dedicated my community service hours to a particular cause or show a strong interest in anything. And I was never employed.

I really focused my efforts on my GPA and my coursework but I just never did much about my EC's. Nobody told me that 100+ hour wasn't enough to impress even the most remedial colleges! I've heard that the UC system is mostly a number games and I'm praying this is true.
