<p>My D only knew one person from her hs when she came to UCLA but made lots of friends right off the bat at orientation and then in her dorm. UCLA seems like a friendly campus to her.</p>
<p>My daughter is a freshman at UCLA and didn't seem to have any problem making friends. Her orientation group occasionally gets together. Her dorm floor had many bonding activities. She has friends from her high school and her dance school. She joined a sorority, and has 35 new friends in her pledge class. What was a bit unnerving is at parent's weekend, every person we bumped into, sharing a bus, sharing a table at a meal, whatever, either knew her or knew someone who knew her. Apparently UCLA is not that large of school.</p>
