I saw this on a blog I follow and wanted to post in case it is helpful information for anyone.

"UC Santa Barbara is pleased to announce there is some capacity to admit students on appeal for fall 2013.Though space is limited, students with at least a 3.0 GPA overall and sufficient preparation in their chosen major should be encouraged to submit appeals with final spring grades. All appeals will reviewed."

UC Santa Barbara Transfer Appeals for fall 2013. 06-13-13

I appealed to UCSB a week ago, and I got accepted yesterday!

Random but does there have to be a specific reason to appeal? Or can you just appeal because you want to get in, like they just didn’t accept you and you want them to take a second look, most likely now including a letter of recommendation or two that you could not submit with the original application?

No you do not need a specific reason to appeal, all you need is at least a 3.0 GPA. When I submitted my appeal, I did not include a letter of recommendation. I sent in a one page appeal letter, and my official transcript which included my spring GPA

And do you know why you were denied in the first place? And what was your major and GPA if you don’t mind me asking (fall and spring)
