My friend originally applied at Cal Poly. He has recently talked about just going to UCSB, instead, during the spring. I was thinking about letting him know that he can apply for winter of this year. His GPA is 3.7+ (from what I remember). He has tons of extra circulars. I don't want to go in depth about his application so I can keep his privacy. He is a math major. What are his chances for applying over winter. Is he able to take a quarter at Cal Poly during the fall and transfer to UCSB or is transferring directly to UCSB a better course of action?
