does anyone know what time decisions come out?
@foodfoodfood 3pm local time
âUCLA was supposedly a âsafetyâ for me based on multiple reputable opinionsâ
@hanoverboard If anybody suggested to you that it was a âsafetyâ for you (according to your post#306), then those opinions were certainly not âreputableâ ones!
Accepted w/ Regents
Asian Female
ACT 35/SAT 1540
Weighted GPA 4.7
@cookiehaven did UCSB come out?
@hanoverboard Any reputable poster wonât chance as they would know the admissions committee can do what they want. A poster can tell you if your stats are in the ball park but a simple google search can also do that. @uclaparent9 is correct.
@10s4life Decisions out tomorrow, though there are Regents recipients who were admitted much earlier.
@10s4life I donât think so? I got an email earlier this year stating that I got in with preliminary notification of admission and that âformal admissions decisions will be posted online through the UCSB Application Status Portal on March 20 at 3 p.m. PST.â I believe all regents scholars got this email.
Can anyone tell me what a UC GPA is? I have seen this quite a few times mostly instate students reference this and am curious what it means?

@neonblizzard itâs the GPA that UC schools specifically consider- it only includes courses after 9th grade. if you look up âuc gpa rogerhubâ youâll find a calculator that can help you determine your UC gpa.
Can someone tell me if I qualify for an acceptance? I applied as an English major
Weighted GPA 3.9
SAT 1210
AP classes: Bio, Lang, Lit, APES, Calc AB
AP Tests: Lang Score 4
ECs:
- cross country and track for all four years & Captain for both for senior year
-Volunteer at a selective hospital program for 3 years (over 180 hours) - orchestra for 2 years
UC GPA is only counting the grades from sophomore and junior year (as well as the summer before sophomore year and after junior year) in A-G subject areas.
A-G subjects include the following: English, math, science, foreign language, history, visual and performing arts, and specific ACADEMIC electives including computer science, economics, politics, religion etc. So your PE grade for example will not be taken into account.
You may only have 8 semesters of honors/AP boosts in your UC GPA. Also, for honors classes no freshman honors classes count, and English honors rarely counts. Usually the only honors classes that count are high level math courses like precalc honors, and science honors classes like physics honors or chemistry honors. Spanish 2 honors for example would not count as an honors class in calculating your UC GPA, however the course title appears on your application so the application reviewers will see that you took advanced classes despite it not helping your GPA.
Once you know what grades are being considered in your UC GPA, you can enter them into the following link with the amount of semesters you have select honors/AP credit for to find your UC GPA:
@neonblizzard, yesterday at the chancellorâs reception here in NorCal, they said that it is a record ⊠and the GPA average for this year was 4.0. They didnât specify if it was weighted or not.
@uclaparent9 @10s4life I meant to put âreputableâ in quotes, as they were knowledgeable but I of course wasnât convinced I was getting in regardless. All I meant to do was say that chancing should be taken with a grain of salt, as I saw a lot of people stressing out when they were getting low chances by posters and I saw others getting high chances that maybe should not have. I was above the 75th percentiles in everything and still didnât get in, just trying to reiterate the unpredictability of the system :.) sorry for any misunderstanding
Hey can anyone chance me? Have been rejected by BU, UCD, UCSD, UCLA and Pepperdine. My only hope is UCSB and UCI. My UC GPA is around 3.85-3.9, SAT 1420 and 10 APs. 3 SAT 2, all are above 700. EC: Paid job, JV sport, sport team manager, on stage performance (violin and guitar), fine art exhibition, 100+ community service hours, Biology club president, Bio league captain.
I know I shouldnât have been so desperate but I literally got into zero UC and rejected by some private schools too.
@JaqueBear remember to appeal! it sounds unusual to me that you didnât get in to any of those schools. there was an error with my app when I first applied that threw it into the auto reject pile which I was able to rectify and get into UCSD. something similar mightâve happened to youâŠ
Does anyone know the admissions rate for bio at UCSB
@quaivoltaire what was your mistake that you appealed for?
UCSB decisions are out.
