When will college of creative studies release decesions?
They should all be out
I applied to UCSB for Comp Sc. but got put into my second choice major (pre-econ) instead due to the applicant pool for the School of Engineering being apparently very ‘selective’ this year. Is the School of Engineering normally very selective, because I honestly felt that my grades were decent enough for me to stand a chance (I hope I don’t come across as too arrogant on this last bit). I received a 1540 in the SAT, 800 in Math SAT-II, 760 in Physics SAT-II and a 42 on 45 predicted in the IB. My ECs are decent and I think my essays were fairly good as well (although this is probably biased on my part ). I am an international student, so I took the TOEFL, in which I received a 116/120, but I have a US citizenship and was born in California. Among the UCs, I was accepted to UCLA, UCSD and UC Davis, all for Math and Econ (which was my first choice for these).
anyone else not able to get into their portal?
Decisions should all be out I think. I got in and am happy! Congrats to everyone who did too, and good luck for others that didn’t. You guys will get in somewhere nice too!
i cant get into portal
I do t have this response in the correct order, but have two comments. The school of engineering has been unbelievably competitive for a while. We know someone who played varsity basketball, was about to get the ib diploma, 4.6 out of 4.9 gpa, and chosen by the teachers to be “round table”
Which is the highest honor at our large school. This was four years ago. Also, I can understand how some of you feel about your tax dollars going to out of state students, but my daughter goes to UCSB from Colorado, and she pays about 60k per year. I think we are paying, which is why they like to have some out of state students. Extra money, not taking from you. My daughter had a 32 act first try and a 4.4 gpa, varsity volleyball, charity work, led freshmen seminar, advanced choirs, so many good things.
