It sucks that we Californians can’t attend our own colleges because less qualified OOS students are admitted for their money.

Accepted! Pre-Psychological & Brain Sciences. ACT 29, OOS GPA so approx 4.3 uc weighted. So excited!

But WHY IS IT LIKE THIS FOR EVERYONE. When I logged in, it refreshed to its original page with same old

@Just4Years Yea I got into UCSD in Mechanical Engineering program, but UCSB had a more interesting mechanical engineering program.

Not to burst your bubble, but if you’re OOS you probably stole the spot of a CA resident more qualified than you. Not your fault, but if you’re in state you were disadvantaged the whole time.

Son OOS MechE rejected w/ 34 ACT unweighted 3.9 4.3 weighted 750 sub tests tons of EC/Leadership AND a national science bowl 1st place award. He’s a national academic comp winner etc… He visited, contacted admissions to ask questions, met profs etc. So there’s no logic.

@kgcobb I believe I am at least qualified to be on the waitlist, but I guess UCSB Mech E program was hard this year, as I applied to Mech E as well.
Wait listed at UCSB, but accepted to UCSD to first choice major and first choice college…
