Somebody that went today to San Jose can they please post how the event was? Thanks in advance
So how was the reception today in San Jose ! So sad we couldn’t make it!
Attended San Jose event on March 5, 2016 with son. Speaker had all applicants stand up and they were told they were accepted! Very exciting. Event was very impressive with excellent Chancellor speach, video and Q&A.
Thank you very much sftrader for replay to my post! This means that my daughter is in ! She won’t believe it ! Thank you thank you thank you again !
I received an email from a UCSB admissions counselor stating I was assigned to Mason Hill, the admissions counselor, and that decisions will be posted on March 22nd. My question is; does everyone get this letter? Does every applicant get assigned an admissions counselor? Might this mean I actually have a chance getting in??? Thank you!
@totallybeachy
I think everyone got that email but of course you still have a chance of getting in. If you got the cancellor invite it seems to mean you are in for sure
My daughter she got the cancellor invitation she couldn’t attend but she didn 't get any email at all! That is the reason why I posted the question about the reception in SAN JOSE! When I started to read about the email that a lot of kids receiving I started to doubt that she is in! Fingers crossed for everybody and good luck all of you!
@totallybeachy @Katecat27 Nope not everyone received it.
I wonder why the admissions counselor email went to select students
@madsurf i thought everyone got the email.
also what are the chances for engineers applying?
@nickstud650 That’s a very broad question, you could get a better answer if you included your stats.

Thank you Sftrader!
To you and your son as well !
Maybe we will meet one day!
Last year, the decisions came out on March 16 at around 3 pm! I know on the portal it says March 22, but is it possible they could come out earlier like last year’s release? I have the chancellor’s invite, so I already kind of know, but I’d love to see the portal update asap!
Hopping on this thread too. 31 ACT, 4.15 UC GPA, white male from Missouri, applying for CS. Just about another week!!
I got the chancellor’s invite and regent scholarship a few weeks ago. 32 ACT and 4.4 UC GPA. Comp sci major. I did not receive an email about a counselor or anything so i don’t think it means you are flat out rejected if you didn’t get the email.Thought I would let you guys know. Good luck to everyone still waiting and you will hear it multiple times but you will end up where you are meant to be =)
Hi everyone, i wanted to know how one gets a chancellor’s invite? I heard it’s given to the top
students, but one of my friends got it and to put it bluntly she has a lower GPA/less extracurriculars than me and I didn’t get it… and I know plenty more qualified applicants who didn’t get it either. any reason why this may be? Thanks
Every school has its own criteria, but since on CC many regents scholars didn’t even get an invite I would say they sent invites to students who “fit” best, not necessarily those with the highest stats (yield protection).
