@cdnotready Wow you’ve got a pretty high ACT score…And I’m not the only one messing up the UC app. My friend who messed it up got into UCI.
The worst (maybe not the worst) possibility is going to a community college. I’m pretty sure you’ll do well…
I feel like the situation will only be better when you transfer–it can’t be worse than the present. You’ll definitely end up going to a school of the same level as UCI and UCD. It’s just another two years and I’m sure you’ll be fine.
@kajah0602 thanks, I’m sure you’ll do fine too That’s true, I know community college is a good option economically and everything, but I can’t imagine living at home for another 2 years. Best of luck with UCSB though! I’ll be rooting for you
@cdnotready You too!
some girl from my school just posted UCSB class of 2021 on facebook? i’m so confused because I though decisions came out tomorrow at 3pst…
@lushella she was probably invited to the chancellor’s reception (where some got admitted early and just decided to submit her SIR?
the portal is “unavailable” for me
@roonilwazlib100 that’s what I’d assume, but this girl isn’t known for being particularly intelligent. not to be rude, but I’d be extremely surprised if that had occurred seeing as she was rejected from Penn State, FSU and UF.
I know this talk of going to CC may sound depressing, but in reality for California students it is actually a great deal. I did my senior year of high school at a CC so I already have many credits that I can transfer. If I go another year at CC I should have enough credits for a Junior transfer. I will have to double my courseload but I think I can manage.
That will shave off 1 full year of my college.
Money-wise it will be awesome - a degree from a 4 year university for the price of 1 year of CC and 2 years of University.
The only thing I will miss out on is the whole Freshman Experience. It is worth something I suppose, but I cannot fight my destiny.
@kajah0602 , you can still apply to schools. Check out this list:
http://blog.prepscholar.com/colleges-with-rolling-admissions
Oh, and apparently there’s a list that comes out in May of schools that still have openings. Apparently there can be some good schools that for some reason just didn’t fill up their spots. Community College can actually be a very good way to go, but if you really don’t want to, you have options.
@jesse’sgirl you have to put spaces or something in the link, CC censors it
Thanks. That is:
blog. prepscholar .com / colleges - with - rolling - admissions
with all spaces removed
the acceptance rate at sd and sb are exactly the same!
Good luck everyone! SB tomorrow and Berkeley next Thursday, and that’s it for the UCs!
The portal changed.
If you guys do not want to live at home for the next year years if you dont get into UCSB or another UC you can always go to two CC next year and then transfer in and graduate a year early. Im debating on doing that if I dont get in tomorrow
@IamINTP , to what?
@jesse’sgirl probably to the same thing everyone’s seeing now, which basically says the portal is closed from 10AM today till 3 PM tomorrow.
UC GPA: 4.0
