****UCSB Admissions 2021****

Accepted: UCI (CHP), UCSB (Chancellor’s Invite), UCD, SLO, SDSU, CSULB, NAU
Waitlisted: UCSD
Denied: UCLA (not a surprise but still stung)

Also applied and was accepted to SCU and LMU but aid is so low that they aren’t even in consideration.

12:34 am here, about to call it a night and wake up to an acceptance hopefully!
May you all get in as well!
goodnight:)

It’s been a joyride! [-O< [-O< [-O<

3 hours left, I may or may not be completely freaked out

@MSHopeful I’m happy for your daughter. She must have worked very hard to get accepted to so many prestigious schools and has been rewarded with a lot of great options. The good news for others on this thread is that she will also be declining a lot of great schools, opening up room for others on the waitlist. Best wishes on what appears to be a great future for her.

Chance me guys!
SAT 1 : 1310(NEW) , 1790(OLD)

International applicant doing A levels so no UC GPA.
Good essays and good extracurriculars.
Major: Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Quick response appreciated :slight_smile:

@Darkinstar no, just IBDP

@Broncoman Thank you.

lol I don’t even expect to get in but I’m still nervous

@oviandhisbros How did you convert your predicted grades into a GPA then?

Anyone at my chance post?

@AlaBingo1234 your test scores are extremely subpar, if your essays and EC were truly good then you have a shot. take this with a grain of salt though, admissions committees tend to surprise you

@Versalia Thank you so much :slight_smile: Hoping for the best. and freaking out

Take the full ride unless Howard is simply not a fit at all. What a gift to be debt free on graduation! :slight_smile:

@Darkinstar my teacher did it for me, some schools offer different credits per subjects and weight HL subjects more than SL as they are harder

@AlaBingo1234 It’s really hard to know for sure since grades and test scores are not always a predictor of who will be admitted to any particular school. Naturally, higher grades and test scores improve your chances, but you also can’t discount the importance of ECs, essays, and other factors. There are a select few with amazing resumes that have already received a Chancellor invite, however the rest of us will have to slug it out the old-fashioned way.

That being said, I will offer a quote from Tom Cruise from the movie Risky Business: “Sometimes you have to say, what the f***! Make your move!”

For those not old enough to get my Tom Cruise reference:

@Versalia the scores aren’t “extremely” subpar, it’s actually towards the lower end of the average.

Do I have a chance at getting in for CS?
ACT: 33C (35 Math)
Sat 2: 790 Math, 680 Chem
GPA: 3.82W (explanation for sub-par grades)
Excellent essays
In-state

Good luck everyone! You all seem like great kids! Speaking as a local, we’d be happy to have you here in town.

Does anyone know if CCS decisions come out at the same time as other UCSB colleges?

@HoustonPFD Thanks alot :). Hoping for the best… :stuck_out_tongue:
