UCSB and UCD

So I have been accepted to both these schools and i need help deciding once and for all which school I will be submitting my SIR too. I am leaning towards UCSB and have been for the longest time. But I really like the overall warm and friendly vibe at Davis. I know I am going to end up choosing UCSB, but i am scared i wont fit in because of the whole party perfect blonde stereotype. I am a little shy and I really want to make friends. lol. If it helps, I live in Southern California about an hour away and I am going to do Computer Science. I also love the city of Santa Barbara!!!! I guess what i really want to know is, what are the students like? and are the people nice and supportive? haha.

UCSB!!!
approximately 20,000 undergraduates are enrolled in UCSB, and I’m sure that not all of them fit the stereotype. I think you can find every stereotype at UCSB and there are hundreds of clubs available to you where you can find the kind of people you want to hang out with.
I can’t tell you exactly what the students are like since I am only a prospective student, but what I can tell you is I am sure you’ll be able to make friends easily and find people who share common interests! And Santa Barbara> Davis the two cities cannot be compared!!

There’s always something to do at Santa Barbara. People are extremely friendly there, don’t let the “party” image make you think otherwise. I recently went down to Santa Barbara and EVERYONE is very nice and always had a smile on. They all just seemed happy to be there, enjoying life. There are an insane amount of clubs to join, intramural sports are also very big, and they have many other really cool things. For example, they have the only recreation center in the entire nation run completely on only solar power and have over 16000 registered bikes. They were also voted the most politically active campus in the nation. Famous people visit the campus all the time, like the Dalai Lama is coming this week.

The point is that there is something to do for everybody. Don’t worry about it.

Thanks, I guess I just needed assurance that i was making the right choice.

when i visited the school the students were very friendly and helpful!
i wouldnt worry about the party scene
im sure there will be others who are shy too

Dont worry about fitting in. If you tour the school (as I did) you will see that the stereotypes are not true. First of all, most of the student body is ugly (and not blonde) and most people are accepting. Secondly, you only have to party if you want to.
