UCSB appeal

I am appealing this year and I am wondering what people included in their appeal letter. Have people appealed in past years and got in?

i appealed to SB last year and got in and i know couple of people who appealed too and got in last year haha

I’m also appealing for Fall 2011. If you don’t mind my asking, what was the basis of your/your friends’ successful appeals, Shibykin?

Dear Members of the Appeals Committee,

I write to ask that my first-year application for the fall 2011 entering class be re-evaluated based on substantive new information. Enclosed, please find:

transcript

letters of recomendation

I want you to know that I am currently working on…

I am very interested in attending UCSB. I hope the new information provided will allow the members of the Admissions Committee to know me better and to change my admission decision from “waitlist” to “accept.”

Do you need letters of recomendation for appealing?

I’m not sure if its required but it definitely would help considering they don’t look at it on the UC Application

I am on the waitlist and my status says so, but I sent in an appeal about two weeks ago. Where do you see if it is received? Is it in an obvious spot and mine just hasn’t been received?

Mine says it’s been received right under the application status.

It says appeal - received decision pending

you dont need letters of recommendation however it helps although i got in SB as well as some of my other friends through appeal without letters of rec, so its definitely possible.

As for when you guys will hear from appeals. THey usually admit people through the waitlist first and then release appeal decisions. I didn’t hear from them until around mid-May.
