UCSB applicants not taken seriously by law school?

My friend's dad is a lawyer, and he told me that prestigious law schools don't take UCSB applicants seriously because of it's party-school reputation. Is this true? I really don't think it's true, but I just want to hear everyone's thoughts about this.

lol no

10 char

it could be true~ due to a admission officer’s bias, but highly unlikely

Can you ask your friend’s dad where he received his information from? Is he a law school admissions officer?

It seems like one person overly concerned with school reputation making a broad generalization. I haven’t looked into this, but does UCSB have a zero percent admission rate into law schools? If not, then your friend’s dad is probably wrong.

People in academia probably know that not all UCSB students are writing their law school applications while drunk and wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

NO. False.

It doesn’t matter what school you go too. All law schools care about are your g.p.a and lsat score.

A 3.8 at a Cal State is better than a 3.5 at UC Berkeley.

Law schools is about the numbers and it doesn’t matter your major. A 3.9 Art History Major will get in easier to Harvard and Yale than even a 3.6 engineering student.

Take basket weaving if you have to, top grades and killing the LSAT are the path to the top schools.
