UCSB Biopsychology vs UCSD Psychology

I’m extremely conflicted at the moment because I’m transferring in fall and I’m deciding between SB and SD. i was admitted to the Psychology program at SD and i got admitted to the Psychological and brain sciences major (BS) at SB however i was unaware up until a week ago this is a new major that was accidentally offered to me before its actually being offered to me in spring 2017 and it would take AT LEAST 3 years to complete this . its a great major i wish i could pursue however SB is discouraging me from doing it plus i dont want to waste that much time. SB is giving me an option between Psych (BA) or Biopschy (BS)- i initially wanted to major in biopsych however i didnt have all the prereqs so this situation may be an opportunity for me. although it would be more rigorous i kind of would rather get a BS although it’ll probably damage my gpa. I’m pursuing a career as a PA and very passionate about my major and the medical field. however, due to my long term plans my #1 priority is my gpa. i don’t want to say my fear is failure however i do want to be cautious if I’m putting too much on my plate. i also would love to pursue research along with my studies.I’m in love with SD it’s absolutely stunning and i would be moving from LA so the big city life is a bit more comfortable for me. although when i visited SB last week i felt pretty comfortable relatively quickly, ALSO their new library was pretty impressive and im also considering that as a significant factor for me because i study 24/7 (literally, 11pm-4am is ideal studying time for me),Geisel is an art piece for sure but when i went to check it out it was really bright and not as intense as SB’s. I’m sure i would be more motivated at SD because it’ll be challenging and i like the environment more. however i don’t know many people attending; i know a lot of people at SB so it may be a bit of an easier transition. however, social life isn’t on the top of my concerns but i do want to make friends of course and i am very friendly and outgoing generally speaking. im slightly into partying but nothing like SB,but i dont want to eliminate it just because of that in fact kind of curious if it would work to my advantage by going there. here’s my thinking, i was seriously considering ucla (however i need to move and i want to be an environment where im happy and motivated) but wouldn’t SD be fairly on par with the level of difficulty at ucla? considering my circumstances does anyone have any advice or input that may be beneficial? is it as competitive as it seems? is social life really an issue? Study spot suggestions?? Anyone who had/has the same dilemma as me when transferring? i kind of considering switching to cognitive science if i attend.

No college major on the planet is worth spending 3 years on unless it’s engineering.

Get it done in two and move on to PA school.

You’ll forget most of what you learn either way so don’t worry about which one is more relevant to your career.
