Hi,
Does anyone happen to have any advice regarding the appropriate length/content for the letter of interest for CCS? What types of experience/activities/etc. should be emphasized in the letter? There is so little guidance provided on their site – just curious and would love to hear from anyone already accepted to figure out what worked – and which direction to take – prior to submission. Really, really hoping to gain admission to this program. Thank you!!
CCS also indicates the College of Creative Studies. (Art/Music). Was this your intention?
If not, and it is CS then:
According to the CDS from 2018, UCSB does not consider LOCI.
They get so many applications that unless you know they ask for it, I would not send it. They already know you would like admission based on your application.
@“aunt bea” UCSB’s College of Creative Studies is not just Art/Music. CCS offers many majors including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Computing. https://www.ccs.ucsb.edu/majors The application process for CCS is different and, for CCS Computing they ask for Letter of Intent, LOR, and Work in Evidence of Talent. https://www.ccs.ucsb.edu/apply
OP, I’m sorry that I can’t answer your question with any first hand knowledge. You might look at last year’s acceptances and see if any of those admitted are still active on CC.
ETA: You can use the magnifying glass at the top of a thread to search for a keyword. Here are the CCS search results from last year’s class. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/search?discussionid=2118492&search=ccs
I believe @crknwk2000 is still active on the boards.
