UCSB CCS Program (Bio)

I just learned about the CCS Program at UCSB. If I choose to apply, it would be for biology. Any input of what the rigor is/ what the overall experience is? I’m curious if it is something worth doing and what the benefits of are. Thanks:)

I would post on the UCSB thread to get more information. What I know about the program, it has many perks including priority registration, more interaction with professors and chances to do research.

The main benefit is that by dint of your hard work and advanced classes while in CCS you will be admitted to several of the top PhD programs in the country. If that isn’t your end goal then CCS may not be a good fit.

I’ve heard CCS makes a strong outreach effort. If you visit campus you can meet with a rep. Since its still summer you ought to call them and see if there is a CCS Bio student in your area that they could put in touch with you to meet for coffee and get a student perspective.
