Hello! I'm a physics major, and I would like some insight into both Berkeley physics (and applied math since, if I go there, I plan on double majoring) and UCSB College of Creative studies for physics. The thing is, it seems that UCSB CCS prepares a person for physics research in the future, but I don't know if I want to do that. I love physics and math, but right now, I don't know if I want to become a researcher xD. UCSB also offered me their global scholarship (since I'm international) which is about 2.5k in the first year and 5k/yr for the following three years. However, I'm going to get my green card by next year and my family is moving to California, so thus I'll become an in-state resident next year. I'll probably lose that scholarship since I will lose my international status. However, I was wondering if Berkeley has something similar for internationals, or if I will be able to negotiate so that I can cut down my tuition for the FIRST year by about $5k (or less....anything would be nice xD).
Also, I feel like Berkeley would be more my type of environment than UCSB >.<...plus, of course, there's the matter of prestige in name. In terms of academics, how does Berkeley physics compare with UCSB CCS physics?

Thanks!
