UCSB CCS vs. UCSD

I got into UCSD as a Bioengineering Major-Thurgood Marshall College, as well as UCSB College of Creative Studies Mathematics Major. An extra variable is that I've lived in Santa Barbara all my life. Any opinions would be great.

Strongly recommend UCSD. Try something different and more prestige.

Well, what do you want to do when you grow up? If you’re set on math, the CCS opportunity is excellent. But, as you say, an extra variable (that math influence coming through) in UCSB being in your backyard. Make sure you visit both, and talk to professors in both departments about your eventual career and schooling goals.

Thanks for the input, I’ve heard so many good things about the CCS it just had me ponder. But the Bioengineering at UCSD speaks for itself as well. But I am visiting both in the upcoming weeks, I’ll be sure to stick my nose in and try to talk to professors. Thanks again

Just curious…
Wouldn’t you choose based on what you want to major in? It seems to me that bioengineering and mathematics are completely different.
Also, I’m no expert on colleges, but from what I’ve heard I personally would choose CCS. I got in for math as well and the small classes and accelerated program really stand out to me. But if I were you, I would choose more on major O_o
However I’m just another clueless student x]

Here’s a turn. I guess I was denied bioengineering at UCSD and am going in undeclared. The CCS program looked really good when I visited it. You graduate in 3 years. I’m so torn between the two
