N7172W - thank you for posting! Did they mention if attendees are admitted into the honors program?

I received the invitation in the mail… but the Seattle location wasn’t listed on there. Does anyone know what that means? San Jose, Irvine, LA, DC, and New York are all listed, just not Seattle. I’m honestly a little scared that my invitation is different and that it’ll be similar to the Chicago incident of previous years.

@jvindua Same, mine did not include Seattle

@iLoveUCs When did you receive your letter and do you live in SoCal?

@jvindua I pretty sure yours will not be a repeat of the Chicago incident a few years ago but I do think that the Denver and Chicago receptions this year will be like the Chicago incident where they will not announce that everyone is accepted at the reception (see my previous post for why).

@cantooo agh yeah, your logic is viable. I just need to wait it out and trust in history repeating itself. UCSB is one of (if not my) top school and I can feel myself getting antsy waiting for notification! Thanks

I’m going tomorrow in San Jose. I’m so nervous, I don’t know what to expect! UCSB is my top choice and I really hope I get admitted. When I get home from the reception I’ll be sure to let you all know what happens :)

I got invited to the Seattle one, so I guess I was accepted? This is such an awkward way to find out.

@wendydarrling you did have the option of attending and finding out less awkwardly… this is an early notification for invitees who attend, and you can still find out the regular way when they release the rest of the decisions.

For earlier posters, I think the Seattle one as well as another out of state one were finalized later, they weren’t on the original alumni site list, but were added later. Your invitation was likely just printed before they were finalized.

Everyone invited to San Jose was admitted!!!

Is the San Jose reception over already?

Can someone at San Jose reception please comment as whether they are also in Honors?

@jeannelacelle Thank you!!

No announcement about honors. Some attendees got regents scholar ribbons. But no word on honors. Not over yet…just wanted to post about admissions as we were anxious also. Over 60,000 applicants. Attendees are in top 1%.

We are in Riverside County, stone toss from San Diego county. My husband asked me to just be patient and not haunt the forum until after the first reception! Sounds like good news!

Will have daughter try again to RSVP in case they added additional space. Either way, she is planning on going to their event at the end of the month to check it out. Would still really like to attend reception though, so fingers crossed.

Thanks to all who have posted here, has been very helpful. And congrats to all who received invites - top 1% is pretty amazing!

so we are 100% sure everyone at the reception today was admitted?

Yup, I’m at the one in San Jose right now. They told us we were admitted right when we got in (:

They would have problems filling up the receptions if they only invited the top 1%.
