I am wondering the same thing, I am a regents scholar and have automatic acceptance into my college’s honors college, which is the college of engineering, but my admittance doesn’t mention it.

Norcal: After looking at the UCSB site again I think Letters and Sciences and Engineering does the honors invitation/acceptance differently.

Letters and Science “About 10 percent of the most outstanding first-year and transfer students are invited to join the Honors Program when they are admitted to the College, although continuing students may apply to the Honors Program after demonstrating academic excellence at UCSB.”

Engineering “Students eligible at the time of admissions will be invited to join the Honors Program prior to their first regular quarter at UCSB.”

So, it seems that the college of engineering sends out an invitation at a later time. Given that you as a regents scholar do not show the same acceptance notice on your portal as the L&S admits, it seems that this is the case.

Accepted!
GPA: 4.3 W, 3.9 UW
SAT: 2150
ACT: 32

I most likely will not attend, but I’m excited that I got in!

@dietz thanks for the clarification! I do remember reading that somewhere but I guess I wasn’t paying attention. It’s all making more sense in context now.

How do I check my financial aid?

ACCEPTED!

Decision still pending!! WHYYYY?!?!

still pending for international students ugh this is so unfair. i emailed them and then they replied back and told me that they havent finished with us so decisions will be coming over the next few weeks so to keep “checking daily” ughhhh if we were notified of that earlier it wouldve been so much better :// wouldntve been up all night from 3 am until 6 waiting for the decision :((( the wait continuesss
congratulations to the rest of you thoughhhh :)

I got rejected from UCSB whilst accepted from UCSD. I’m still quite shocked. I really wanted to go to UCSB. My stats are: 1770 SATs, 4As in A Levels (equivalent to 4/4gpa score), 5As, 4As, 2Bs.
Is it because UCSB is just generally really hard for international students or what?

Other:
Intended Major: Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Undeclared
State (if domestic applicant):CA
School Type: Medium/Large Public

General Comments: I was rejected for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (no idea why my scores and grades are above all of their stats), but they felt that “I was a strong applicant that would benefit from one of the numerous other majors offered” so they gave me an undeclared major. I am kind of ****ed about this. But since I won’t be attending UCSB anyway I don’t really care.
