Has anyone received a decision yet??

@ncgirl0813 Decisions will be out March 17 per the website, however, Regents scholars have been notified and some high stat applicants were invited to Chancellor’s receptions which generally (this year and in the past) announce at the reception that all invited have been accepted. However, today there is one of those receptions in Irvine and tomorrow there is one in L.A. so those people haven’t been notified at the event yet.

Most should be notified on March 17, however.

We are going to the Chancellor’s reception tomorrow in LA. Would love to hear from anyone who went to the one in Irvine as to what they did at it.

@collegeisgreat, here’s what happened at the Irvine reception:

12-1pm: After you register and get your name tag (The students each get a name tag with their names printed on it. Regents scholars get a name tag with a ribbon affixed to it.), you’re free to roam about the hotel. There are faculty members, staff, students, and alumni all around. They are all friendly and eager to talk to you.

At 1pm, everyone was invited into the conference room. In the room, Chancellor Henry Yang spoke (his speech was awesome. It got great laughs from both students and parents). Before though, another lady spoke and during one part, she asked that all the students invited stand up. She then stated that we were admitted. (No details if we were in honors, accepted into first choice major, etc.)

They talked some more about UCSB and how great it was, showed us a cool video about UCSB, and then had a Q&A session with the panel of students/faculty/staff. The questions were the questions we had submitted online/ in person.

Then there was a break and students and their parents were free to go to the specific location where their college is (College of Letters and Sciences, College of Creative Studies, College of Engineering… I think it was only those three. I can’t remember, sorry!) This would start at 2:45pm.

During this part of the reception, the panel (not all the same people as before) answered questions specifically for the college you were in. (I was in the session with the College of Letters and Sciences btw.) This lasted until 4pm. And afterwards, the reception ended!

The Chancellor’s Reception was very informative and overall a solid experience. Light refreshments were available, such as Starbucks coffee, yummy cookies and brownies, water bottles, and soda.

@krickadoodle Thank you so much for the update on the reception. Our daughter goes to UCSB and loves it. Our son is a different type of person with a different major and looking for different things, so we are excited to see what UCSB has for him. Thank you for the info and good luck to you!

Only one more day!!! can’t wait!

Any idea what time decisions come out tomorrow?

The admissions office said they would start coming out at 3pm @TheDanielJK

Hopefully ucsb doesnt crash like sd did lolol. Glad to know Ucsb and Uc Davis have my back no matter what :P

have any of you guys been accepted at davis, irvine, or sd?

@buster18 irvine and sd

Irvine and Davis, but not San Diego. Declared Financial Mathematics Major at UCSB, anyone else?

So far…UCSB, yes as a top applicant, UCD no, UCI ?? no answer yet and UCSD waitlist. College apps are such a crap shoot. :-)

@collegeisgreat I hear you! was accepted to UCD, UCI, and UCSB as top applicant but just rejected from UCSD. It’s luck of the draw sometimes
