So happy and grateful to have been admitted! I think I’m going to be going to UCSD though, if I don’t get into UCLA that is (I probably won’t). Good luck to everyone!

on a side note…S did not get into Honors but I read on UCSB page that you get automatically accepted to Honors after one year upon application if you have GPA of 3.6…Honors is nice since it gets you priority registration. Well, he hasn’t decided yet where to go, but that is good to know.

I’ve been skimming through this thread and noticed that no one got in for ChemE yet. So I was wondering, has anyone been specifically accepted into ChemE and if so, what were their stats?

4.38(3.8uw),2120,34 act,10 AP’s, 790 biom/math2. 740 chem.

I’m honestly not sure how i got in, b/c my essays were specifically about my bioengineering internships and how it has let me grow as a person and researcher. Literally mentioned ChemE only once (as being part of the various fields applicable to bioe). You can look at my previous chances threads for more detailed stats! Congrats to all who got in!

Also accepted to Purdue Business School with Presidential scholarship (nice to be loved – but can’t beat UCSB), UCSC with invite to Honors Program, SDSU Honors Prog, Waitlisted at UCD, not heard from UCI (and no longer care), denied at UCSD, also accepted to CSU Long Beach, did not get “gold” envelope from UW (anyways - it was too much $$), oh and how can I forget – denied at Cal Poly (after acceptance to UCSB would not go there anyway), did not hear from UCS (but can’t afford without scholarship) Now just waiting for UCLA and Cal! These are the only 2 that can beat UCSB, otherwise – I am sold!

Congrats to everyone who made in!!!

@coolkat123 Those SAT 2s pulled you right in. I, on the other hand, didn’t take any science ones + my math 2 was horrible lol. I think they’re mostly looking at math & science coursework + anything else that shows strong preparation for these areas (subject tests, research, etc.). Congrats! :)

@Lilliana330 Talk about things happening for a reason! Now you can be a chem major!

@collegevetting Yup! + Had I transferred down, I wouldn’t have been admitted to honors as a freshman. Worked out better than I thought. :)

Accepted with Honors Program!
UW: 3.96
Not sure about weighted, but probably quite a bit higher than my UW as I’ll have 13 APs by end of this year.
SAT: 2280 (800 CR, 740 W/M)
SAT II: 800 Math 2, 780 Literature
Don’t know rank, technically not ELC (I believe I do qualify, but since I’m new to my school, apparently I’m not even considered for it)
Average EC’s, I thought my essays were good, but I’m not so sure anymore.
Highly competitive public school.

Honestly I don’t know if I’m an OOS applicant or not… I live in California right now but have for less than a year, which I believe makes me considered Out of State. So I’m definitely not banking on getting into Cal or UCLA and am so thankful to have fantastic options such as UCSB and UCSD.

Oh, for future reference - I did not receive an invitation to the Chancellor’s Reception, but did get Honors. So you definitely don’t have to be a Reception Invitee to get into the Honors program, which was something that I was worried about.

Congrats to everyone who got in!

Accepted for Classics.
GPA: 3.9 (4.5 W)
SAT: 1530
Senior course load: AP Environmental Science and AP English Lit

Rejected: UC San Diego
Accepted: San Diego State, Monterey Bay, Humboldt, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Santa Barbara (obviously)

Didn’t get into honors :C but accepted
4.13gpa, 27act,1780sat (very average ec’s)

Both sons accepted!

I was sweating it for S1 since he didn’t get the Chancellor’s invitation when his brother did, and he’s the one who best likes UCSB of the two of them (although both like it .) He was in a group stat wise where UCSB accepts a good chunk every year, but also rejects a good chunk, and I just didn’t know which way it would go. Davis sent him a supplement and saw his straight As this year in 6 AP courses, but UCSB didn’t send a supplement, so didn’t see that. Some others with similar stats on this thread got waitlisted or denied, and I feel very fortunate that he was accepted!

S1 Accepted to pre political science (goal is law school, major may change)

3.72 UC gpa soph and jr years
SAT 2230
SAT IIs Math II 800 US History 740 (? I think?)
Varsity golf (4 years) Debate (4 years) Duke Moot Court (3 years),Mock Court, volunteered at local library, tutors Calculus and Algebra 2

S2 Accepted to Undeclared Letters and Sciences - received invitation to Chancellor’s reception

SAT IIs US Hist 800 Lit 740
Debate 3 years, golf two years, Moot Court one year, Mock Court one year, volunteered, bass guitar in a band.
AP Scholar with Distinction

Congratulations to all admitted, and best of luck in your future decisions to those who weren’t admitted this time!

Accepted! Wait Listed at UCSD but accepted to UC Davis… PLEASE LA and CAL PLEASE

Accepted to Pre-Bio
3.86 UC Gpa
