*UCSB CLASS OF 2019 OFFICIAL DECISIONS*

What was your declared major @ALR2015‌

Lol - my d got that email also. She laughed hard.
I wonder if they sent it to all female admits or those that listed a s
port as an EC. Some schools in our area have lacrosse, but not ours.

I got the lacrosse email, and my female friend who also got into UCSB received it as well - it was pretty funny.

@couplemoreweeks‌ I have no idea - pretty sure on the website it says they select and automatically admit you. I was admitted into the L&S Honors Program (applied Undeclared L&S). My stats aren’t amazing or anything (31 ACT Composite, two 4s on AP tests), but I think they look for people showing consistently strong grades in challenging classes. Agreed though, it seems sort of random. The site says you can apply into the Honors Program later in your college career when you attend UCSB - it’s not invite only.

@erinb0731‌

Yeah just went back into my portal and saw it!!! My bad!

ACCEPTED (sorry I don’t know how to turn this green haha)
Illinois resident
ACT:28
No SAT or SAT subject tests submitted cause mine sucked.
UC gpa: 3.85 I think? Weighted it might be 3.9 I’m not sure
Took 5 honors classes but they didn’t count with the uc system…
5 ap classes total of 8 semesters
AP French AP bio AP calc ab AP human geo and AP Psych
Senior year course load: 4 ap classes
Leadership was definitely my strong point! Student body president and many many other positions held at my school but I don’t want to list them all.
Many leadership awards as well which helped.
My essays were pretty good in my opinion! I had one that was funny to show my personality and I even risked an inappropriate joke… I guess they liked it. My second essay was about my brother’s cancer experience so it showed what I’ve been through.
I honestly didn’t think I would get in… Congrats to everyone who got in!

Did anyone get in with a GPA lower than 3.7 for Computer Science?
