UCSB class of 2023

anyone know what time it’s coming out?

Good Luck today guys! I heard UCSB comes out at 2, however I logged into my application portal and it said the sight was down until 3 pm.

(I have an inside source)

Don’t let a Davis decision stress you out about the UCSB decision. Davis can be really unpredictable from what I’ve seen the last few years - for example, not getting into Davis, but getting a Regents at UCSB (really).

I am so nervous, this is my top school and I’ve gotten waitlisted by UCSC and UCD :frowning:

@Californiasurfer who’s your source? someone in the admissions office?

@Californiasurfer there’s no way they can come out at 2 if the site is down until 3…

I have a question for @Gumbymom, someone I know is insisting that his son might get into UCSB because he is a “legacy”, basicaly the father and grandfather attended UCSB. Yet I did not see anywhere on the application where they consider the fact that a parent went to the school. My husband graduated from UCSD and we were hoping that she would be able to show that somewhere on the application but there wasnt anything that asked for it.

Is this true? This child does not have the stats to get into Ucsb, not even close, so I am wondering if they ever admit someone just because their parents went there. This seems like it woud be very unfair.

@Drummer1030 better than paying your way onto the “rowing team” at least

The UCs don’t care at all about legacy. My kids would be 5th generation legacy for Berkeley - too bad they don’t care!

@kachuang Yes, I was tutored by an admissions counselor for my PIQs

@Californiasurfer um where are you getting your information from? On the portal, it clearly states that decisions will be released at 3. I’m just saying what we are all thinking. So please, do not give us false information. We had to deal with all this last week with UCLA and UCSD.

@naturelover757 I have just heard from peers at my high school and from an admissions counselor that the admissions come out at 2, even though they say 3. I was not involved with the UCLA and UCSD rumors.

@Californiasurfer Ok. Are you going to check at 2?

@Drummer1030, @TheFrenchChef is correct that UC’s do not consider legacy in their admission decisions.

admissions decisions came out a bit early last year (like around 2) so u could probably try to check early!

Well, it’s 2:11 PM where I am now :-). Good luck everyone! <3

I hope they come out at 2!! Crossing my fingers @ucplsbb

I got the Provost scholarship at UCD ($13.5K/year) so there definitely are opportunities for OOS merit aid, but I think it’s rare to receive them.

^ that was in response to a previous question someone had asked about merit aid for OOS at the UC schools.
