I am a high school senior from a rural area in Northern California who is considering applying to UCSB's CCS in Music Composition. I have found plenty of information on the program itself, but I can't seem to find as much info on admissions; what CCS is looking for in composition students, how many they admit, etc... Anyone have more information on their admissions process?

Because of my location, I also haven't had as many chances to study music as I'm sure other applicants to CCS have had (no music theory or comp. at my high school). However, I have written compositions of my own for multiple instruments and taken private piano, flute, and voice lessons, in addition to participating in my school's band and choir. Wherever I go, I plan on majoring in Music Composition, so I am serious about studying music and being in that intensive of a program. Would I be competative for CCS's program, or are they looking for applicants who are already more experienced? Thanks!
