UCSB Communications Major

How is the program there? I would like to know about the classes, the students, the professors...just the general environment.

While UCSB claims to have a fine communications program, I can't seem to find an undergraduate ranking list for communications.

And is the UCSB communications program better than the programs at UCD and Cal Poly SLO?

I want to know, too. (So does my friend).

I can try and ask my dad for you, he has a PhD in Comm. from USC’s Annenberg, which is apparently one of the top places for that kind of stuff? I know it sounds like I’m bragging haha but I really have no idea and my dad does. :)

UCSB is supposed to be better at communication than UCD from what I hear o.o, though not an obvious diff.

@Halie - I’ve heard some great things about USC’s Anenberg, but I didn’t apply there (and even if I did, I doubt I would’ve had a chance). If you could ask your dad about the UCSB Communications program, that would be awesome. And what does your dad do for a living with a PhD in Communications?

@Shibykin - That’s what I’ve been hearing but I want some proof.

He works as a Vice President of Human Resources for a midsized company at an international level.

Hmm I would like to know too :frowning: I got in UCLA and UCSD for communication but want to know how UCD and UCSB compare for that major :). Good to know for grad school :D

@Shibykin - I know that UCLA and UCSD’s Comm. programs are better than UCSB and UCD. Don’t know why, though.

if you got into UCLA don’t pass on that opportunity.

yea, but I’m debating between that and UCB pre-business -.-.
