Very unfortunately, I just found out I have not been admitted to UCSB. I am an OOS student psych major with a 3.92 major GPA and 3.8 UC Transferrable. The message on the admission site said I was not admitted because I did not meet the minimum requirements for entrance to the University of California. I am in the honors college at my current university, so instead of like English 101, I took a full year (6 credits) of honors reading and writing courses. I visited each of the 6 UC’s I applied to last July. I knew the most hindering factor of my application is the 2 semester of English course; however, each UC admissions officer, including UCSB, went over my syllabi and looked on Assist.org with me. I know that admissions reps can never guarantee your courses will transfer. The strangest part is that I submitted UC Berkeley’s Reading and Composition Questionnaire, and they contacted me saying both courses were accepted as transferrable English credit. Do all UC’s decide that separately? Should I contact UCSB’s admission? In all honesty, UCSB wasn’t my first choice, but now I’m EXTREMELY worried about ever other UC. What do you guys think?
