Maybe they post your perm # after they have processed your application, whether or not it is acceptance or rejection? Because it seems like they'd give everyone one since you can log-in with your perm #. But I didn't get mine until a few days ago, so maybe it means they just recently got done with the application. I doubt the will post anything final until March 15.

So does everyone pretty much have the perm # now?

yea, but it think the big question is whether or not you can sign into any student services... if you can i think you're in... if you cant i think you're rejected.

i'm starting to think i'll be rejected... this is my #1 school.... damn!

i have a perm number and im able to go to the student services section but it it still says "decision pending"...

well... the student services section is that housing thing rc251 was talking about...are you able to sign into that website?

no it wont let me sign into that.

i was a little worried, but the website says you have to be enrolled... even if you were accepted we arent yeat enrolled. i was accepted tp ucsc and they have a similar student email thing and i am still unable to access the website... i wouldnt look too far into it... as long as nobody else can access the website.

yeah im just gonna stay patient and wait for the 15th ;)

..only 10 more days!!

i cant take this ish anymore... too much time... tooo much pressure... i still have to pass the rest of my classes

Just a note, I'm also able to log into GOLD, which is UCSBs account page for students:

http://gnet.ucsb.edu/gold/

I was able to log in using my perm # and last 4 SS# digits for the PIN number. It gave me this:

**WELCOME TO STUDENT ACCESS

[CHANGE YOUR PIN]

[i*]

You must change your PIN number
the first time into the System.

Press ENTER to continue.**

didnt work for me... looks like i better brace for rejection

I wouldn't worry yet. The decisions aren't posted yet, so who knows. Maybe I could even be rejected (if they found something that invalidated my guaranteed transfer that I wasn't aware of), so I'm not going to believe anything until it says "YOU ARE ACCEPTED".

Also, UCSB could be posting rolling updates to their website, maybe all notices officially go up on March 15th, but some people could have their admission status updated earlier than that.

couple questions for you...is the guaranteed admission thing the 2.8 with igetc completed, no signature required? i have a 3.1, but didnt check the box (i had no idea about it) and now i'm sitting here worried as hell.

That should be it. Here's the agreement (for College of Letters & Sciences major):

Click

Notice it doesn't even say that you need to check that box on the application, all it says is submit the application.

I wasn't able to log-in to GOLD, UMail, or the housing thing, and I haven't haerd of anyone else who can...maybe it's because you have a guarenteed transfer that you can already log-in?

exactly
hes the only one
who can log in
the porbability that hes the only one who get in is highly unlikely
so im sure we are all pretty safe

There's another reason why I might be able to access the system...

As I posted a while back, I was actually admitted to UCSB as a freshman. However, I decided instead to go to a community college (it's a long story), and rescinded my admission to UCSB.

Now, I just checked the perm # that just showed up on the Admissions page, and I also looked through all my old UCSB correspondence that I received back when I was applying as a freshman. And my Perm # matches on both the admissions page and my old freshman UCSB letters.

So that could be a reason why I'm able to access it. Although I rescinded my admission, they could have failed to disable my account on UCSB, and maybe I could have been able to access it all this time.

Yeah, that's probably it. I was talking with my friend yesterday who goes there about the whole perm # thing and he checked his application status and there was still a congratulations page for him. I think once it's in the computer it just stays.

yo rc251: i can pretty much check off everything except for the second english course (currently enrolled) i wonder if this one class or not checking the box can be the difference of acceptance or rejection!ahhhhhhhh!... well now that i know that you got im when you were a freshman i dont feel so bad....

Question: did you check that box on the application?

OK people , listen up!!!! If you were assigned a perm no# from UCSB YOU'RE IN!!!!!! Same thing happened lastyear! It also happened for UCLA applicants also... people typed in their info in one of UCLA's site and they were able to get in even though decisions were not up yet. Everyone who were able to sign in were accepted when the decisions were posted.
