UCSB Econ & Accounting or UCD Managerial Economics

UCSB Econ & Accounting or UCD Managerial Economics- Which would you choose and why?

In regards to social life/networking and overall preparation for the a business industry.

Accounting is nice to know and be familiar with, but I do not plan on becoming an accountant. I do find it useful and i'm confident that it will give me an advantage over other business applicants in the future.

Job positions that I would like to consider in the future consists of being an analyst/financial analyst.

Most importantly, I want to know if corporations favor UCSB Econ and Accounting applicants over UCD Managerial Economics majors. I've talked to family and friends that have graduated from UCSB, UCD, UCI, and UCB that are Econ/Business Admin majors. It seems like they have more UCSB co-workers in their larger corporations than UCD.

I do heavily care about which school's name is favored when comparing two applicants side by side from both schools.

Thanks in advance.

@irvine2014 I heard UCSB’s econ and accounting program is really good. They have a nobel prize for econ at the school, and SB is pretty well respected in the work place. My sister works for KPMG, (Big 4 accounting firm) and they get a lot of recruits from SB. (both accounting and consulting)

Social wise, not even a question compared to any other school, SB is getting closer to LA every year in terms of academics, and how hard it it’s to get in. I think it’s the full package!

Needless to say, i am an Econ/accounting major transferring in the fall 2012! Sounds like we have pretty similar goals. We should be friends  haha

I’ve been looking around at where the best places to live at SB And from friends/forums ISLA VISTA is the place to be; at the new Tahitian apartments. For the price of the dorms there’s no question about how much better the quality is at the apartments.
I’m from Brea In the oc, my names Alain bonus btw!

Good luck on your future endevours, hit me up if you wanna go to SB and need a roomie, us transfers gotta stick together to adapt to this new journey we have!

I am a new transfer to econ and acct in UCSB too
