UCSB Econ&Acct. vs. UCSD Econ + Acct. minor

I've been waiting for this moment to come.. now I have more than one school to choose from.
I was admitted to UCSB Econ & Acct. today and UCSD Econ on Saturday.

I'm still waiting for other schools.

IF I have to choose between UCSB and UCSD, which school would be a better choice?

My ultimate goal is to get a CPA license and get a job at a accounting firm. (Not just Big 4, I'm open to anywhere.)

I know that UCSB has very strong accounting program, but at the same time, UCSD is just better school in general. (IMO)

Help me!

Go based on the reputation of the program and not the school in general. UCSB would be my pick.

^ That time of the year again. Many students can not walk out the us news college ranking.
UCSB my pick too.

I have exactly the same problem as you do. I personally love UCSB a lot but concerning that UCSD has a higher rank on econ. It is so sad that many students can’t walk out us new college ranking (including me). XD
I really want to choose UCSB but i don’t know if i will get distracted by all parties there.
Sorry i couldn’t offer any useful advice cuz i’m in this dilemma too.

Reputation is pretty significant when you enter the job the market. As long as UCSD and UCSB both have a accredited accounting program, you should be fine with either schools. I would choose ucsd since its more reputable unless ucsb has more business connections.

If you also agree reputation is pretty significant, you might want to know that the firms are more interested in the reputation of the program itself than the overall reputation of the whole school.

I have same problem too. I also admitted by UCD, but since I lived in southern CA, UCD seems too far for me. I think I have to pick one between UCSB ECON&ACCT and UCSD ECON Minor ACCT. Both school offers Financial Aid, and I really don’t know which one I should pick. Some of my friend tell me to look at the major requirements and the class schedule, they said that will help me to decide. If I want to accept the Financial Aid offers, I have to make a decision before May 1, I am confusing too. Sorry I didn’t give you any helpful advice, but good luck. Perhaps we will be classmates one day.
