Sounds like you’re friend is quite the negative nancy lol. The way j see it is glass half full. They want to admit me but are just making sure I’m doing all I said I was doing so they don’t accept me in vain
IDK what to even think of anymore. I guess I’ll find out when decisions release (I swear im going to be in therapy if I get my decisions in mid-late April.)
So I was looking at past years UCSB transfer thread and read that some people received a UCSB email on the day before decisions start to roll out. The email just stated an approximate time decisions would start to release on the UCSB portal.
Anyone get such an email this year?
Nope. But on the login page it says decisions will begin at 3pm
I’m going to be in therapy if I see a denial…
@uchopeful414 Same. All of us probably will, tbh.
I’m going full superstitious tomorrow. I told my mom she has to wear the “UCSB Mom” shirt I got her when I went to visit the campus, and I’m going to wear the shirt I bought myself on the same day. I’m probably also not going to go on the Internet at all until 3PM just to keep myself from reading this forum and going crazy with doubt. I should have done this with UCSC, lmao. I probably would have heard something by now if I had.
I hope I’m notified early on. This will be my first college admission decision (obviously not counting being admitted into CC, lol).
I’m not visiting any campus until I know which one.-. For reasons you just mentioned. Would suck to see the beauty to just be let down =((
My plan for tomorrow: work 4:00am-9:00am (not sure how I got this shift as a shift manager. First of its kind in ages), visit UCI (haven’t visited before), go home, sleep. I had to wake up at 1:30am on both Saturday and Sunday for work. Worked until 12:00pm Saturday and 11:00am Sunday.
I managed to get a couple hour nap in on Saturday. Did homework. Went directly to Disneyland after work with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday yesterday. Got home at 8:00pm. Did homework.
And then of course classes and a symbolic logic test today. No chance for a nap.
I’m in prime condition to sleep through the anxiety all of you will be experiencing. But it shall visit me should I not hear back tomorrow! My first university acceptance would be very nice to have.
@uchopeful414 I used to be like you, but then I took arrogance to the knee. I’m expecting to be accepted, and I really wish I didn’t. I can’t imagine how I’d cope with a rejection!
@Cheolf I visited UCI on Saturday and it was beautiful. There’s this Chinese statue area that is really interesting and the entire center of campus is a giant park that you won’t find anywhere else in LA/Orange County. I think you’ll love it. See if you can find the bench with the anteater statue that’s using a laptop. It’s funny looking, lol.
Hey everyone!
I have a 4.0…but only half my prereqs for Political Science (my major) completed. I have Political Theory, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics left.
But I’m taking Social & Political Philosophy now…which counts as Political Theory at LA and Berkeley. And I got a 4 on the AP Macroeconomics exam (I’m not sure it counts).
Is SB pretty strict on prereqs? Do I have a shot?
The portal: “Admission decisions will be released on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. PST.”
Does this mean decisions won’t be rolling? The language seems to imply they will all be released at once.
@solostish assist.org: “Transfer students are strongly advised to complete as many major preparatory courses as possible prior to enrolling at UCSB. Although completion of all major preparatory courses is not an admissions requirement, completion, or near completion, of these courses will help students move more efficiently toward graduation after transfer.”
That comma usage bothers me, although I guess it’s technically correct. You’re fine, anyway.
Also from assist: “Students must also complete Economics 1 and 2 (or 9) on a letter graded basis.”
“Letter graded basis”… makes me cringe. So yeah, it seems that your AP test won’t count. It looks like you can take Econ 9 - Intro to Economics at UCSB, and that satisfies the requirement for both Econ 1 and 2.
@goldencub It’s rolling. It says on the homepage. Check your Applicant Status portal on March 22 at 3 p.m. PST!
StudyingDecisions for freshman applicants will be released on the Application Status portal on Tuesday, March 22 at 3 p.m. PST. Transfer applicants will receive their decisions on a rolling basis form March 22 through May 1.
Anyone know how strict SB is with pre-reqs? I have 2 out of 4 completed. non-impacted major.
Hey Philosoup is in here!
Yeah missing 2 courses also with psych
I’m missing one with psych. I think though Philo that you’re good.
SO NERVOUS!! At work dying with anxiety.
My stats-
Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.49
Tag: yes
IGETC: one last humanities class in progress
Major prep: all completed except for calc
Will receive my AA-T in psychology from my cc but not sure if UCs take that into consideration
