Hi
Can you guys please chance me?
CC transfer
Major: biochemistry(applied under pre-chem)
GPA: 3.2 after TAU
IGETC: done
pre-reqs: finishing spring (calc 2)
TAG: yes but probably revoked. I had around a 3.4 when I did TAG then I got C in ochem(fall) which dropped me to a 3.19. After winter I got it back up to a 3.21/23
My first choice in school is between UCD/UCSB
Applied: UCD UCR UCI UCSB
Accepted: UCR
Denied: none yet
College app: volunteered at a hospital for over a year, CC clubs, immigrant, first generation college student in the family

Decisions are released in the 20th, right? And @biochembbs9 , I think you have a decent chance. I think UCs understand it can be really tough for first generation college students so that improves your chances. That’s why the option is there. Best of luck!

Yeah they start on the 19/20th
@yamjand I hope so :frowning:
I can’t believe one class dropped my gpa so much. Especially since I could’ve transferred without it!! :frowning:

unfortunately uc TAG program will not guarantee you admission unless you have 100% of the requirements fulfilled

@francescap I spoke to an Admissions counselor and although I did not fulfill all of the requirements, the TAG will still give me somewhat of an advantage because it shows them that I am dedicated to their school so I’m hoping that it works out in my favor!

Hi guys, would anyone be able to chance me?

Major: Pre-Biopsychology as number 1 choice, Pre-Psychological and Brain Sciences as number 2 choice.
GPA: 3.68
IGETC: Complete
TAG: Not UCSB but I have a tag for Davis as a Psychology A.B. major.
Pre-reqs: Not done, I will have Calculus 1 done by the end of spring but I don’t have the chemistry requirement fulfilled. :frowning:
Applied: UCB, UCLA, UCD, UCI, UCSB
Essays: I would say they are pretty solid.
ECs: Secretary of psychology club, UC Berkeley TAP, UC Berkeley Starting Point Mentorship, Psi Beta Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, tutor peers in mathematics, weight-lifting/personal fitness, self-taught flutist, independent research in psychology/anthropology fields, volunteer at all psychology related guest speakers/events at my college as ticket sales/usher, mathematics club member
Work experience: Before I started school I worked as a retail sales associate at a store, was then promoted to Head Cashier, then Visual Merchandiser, then Visual merch manager. I spent a total of four years at this job. During this job, I worked roughly 40 hours a week. When I quit, I decided to go back to school. The first year at community college, I worked as an Operations Manager at a fitness center. I worked around 45 hours a week. Now, I sell appliances and help clients design kitchens. I work about 25 hours a week.

Pre-reqs aren’t done which I feel will greatly disadvantage me, but I’m hoping my work experience and ECs help!

I’m an in state transfer student with a 3.13 gpa as a Comm major. I have the IGETC completed and I did the TAG but fell one requirement short. Most of my friends who were accepted last fall got their decisio in April but I was told by a ucsb counselor that I should hear back between March 20-April 1.

Anyone know when UCSB transfer admission decisions came out last year?

@mbruin92 march 20!!!

@biochembbs9 thanks!!

@mbruin92 they started on March 21st around 2pm (for 2017)

hey everyone! I am new to this thread, but I am also on the UCLA and UCSD transfer threads as well.
Here are my stat
Major: Communications
GPA: 4.0
Major GPA: 4.0
Pre-recs- only one is offered at my school, and it is already completed
TAG: Nope, was one unit short :frowning:
TAP: UCLA
Applied to: UCLA UCSD UCSB
Pending: UCLA UCSD UCSB
EC: too many to list so I will name a few, 600 hours+ of community service, board member of non-profit, on the board of an honors society and the honors club at my school
You don’t need to chance me, but I thought it could potentially be helpful if other transfer students in the future so that they will find this thread as useful as possible
