"The system is currently being updated. Please check back in 15 minutes."

I got that when I was signed off, but I signed on with my ID and I got the usual page. Hmm... it does say that it'll be updated in late March. I hope it's updated tomorrow.

This is the deciding factor. And the counselor that they assigned me has been so nice and helpful. They always answer my questions within a day or two.

Oh. They just sent me an email about being admitted as an EOP student… I do not remember checking the box, but I guess they smelled my Blackness and poorness from 240m away.

I ain’t complaining though–hopefully I get an EOP grant… And then there are emergency grants as well…

“AS/EOP Grants are available to EOP students eligible to receive need-based financial aid through the UCSB Office of Financial Aid in accordance with nationally approved need analysis standards and UCSB deadlines and awarding procedures. The maximum of all grants shall not exceed seven hundred dollars ($700.00) per student per year, with the exception of fifteen (15) grants of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) each, set aside for serious medical emergency situations. In addition a maximum of five (5) grants of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each for dire situations, as determined by two Program Directors and approved by the EOP Director, can be allocated for situations that are beyond the scope of these guidelines. The EOP grants are to be used in the case of an emergency as described below.”
