UCSB for an introverted, slightly shy person?

yeah of course there’s a place for you at sb.
the party animal thing is just a stereotype of ucsb, kinda like, as you pointed out, how “blond girls” are associated with socal.

I can’t wait for college now. I’m happy to be going to UCSB

collegegirl12, I’m very similar to you!

cool! that means we might be friends if we meet at UCSB

Hehe I’m shy and introverted at first, but that will change in SB XD whether I like it or not :).

that’s how i am too, but once i’m there i am bound to meet people

lol :D. Well I’m hecka fortunate to get in thru appeal :D. I don’t want to be that introverted like in high school since I couldnt stand that place -.-. I can’t wait to go to the beach, get tan, get away from norcal, meet new people, and i guess study…haha.

ME TOO. I cant wait to go to the beach! and definately meet new people. Cuz you know everyone says that college lacks all the drama of highschool, and that is what I am looking forward to no more highschool drama. I just want to have fun lol

Yea  and college people doesnt care crap about who you are(as in the type of person you are and what you do) so thats a great start for college :D. Plus beach=hello :D. Sigh but it’ll be weird for me adjusting to a school thats 17% asian when i come from one thats like 80% asian XD and I’m asian too :P

Omg that was the same problem i felt cuz at my school it is culturally diverse so there are a lot of hispanic people, asian people and I felt that I would sort of stand out there being mexican and all. But it turns out that UCSB is becoming one of the most diverse out of all the UC campuses. So it should work out

haha :). Well only 3-4 ppl from my school are going to UCSB and I knew like no1 who went to SB so thats good for me :D. Start out fresh with like no one knowing me :)

there are all kinds of people in ucsb. one thing i like about it is that you have the options of partying hard or studying hard. I mean there are times I go out a lot and have fun and there are times I sleep in lab for 3 straight days writing my lab report. So, if you are a “nerd”, there are plenty of places in ucsb that welcome your (or our) type.

kao, would you say that it’s possible to find a healthy balance of both if you wanted it?
