<p>@omegared179: The honors program also guarantees housing for 4 years and you get more one-on-one time with professors. Priority registration is a big deal because you can pretty much pick any class you want at any time available. I think itā€™s a great thing, and one of the reasons Iā€™d pick UCSB over UCSD.</p>

<p>You shouldā€™ve applied. I was once (September 2008) told by a Harvard admissions officer that ā€œyou canā€™t get into Harvard only if you donā€™t apply.ā€ This is true for all schools I guess.</p>
