Hey everyone! I just looked at UCSB and absolutely loved it. Can someone please give some advice on how to get into the honors program. It would be nice to have some concrete stats of a successful UCSB honors student to look at. Thanks so much ! 
Even if you don’t get in the honors program initially, if your UCSB grades are good enough to qualify for honors you can get in while you’re there. One of our son’s friends did that.
Very few people get into the UCSB honors program as first years. In fact the class of 2021 only had 300 of us (according to the university). Your SAT score should be at least a 2200 and GPA should be a 4.2 or higher but then again I don’t know the new SAT’s range so hopefully you can convert it.
Even if you don’t get in with admissions, don’t worry you can join your second year if you keep a good GPA.
i’m an incoming freshman in the UCSB honors program – UC GPA 4.12 (high school didn’t offer many APs), ACT 34, passed all AP tests but only one 5, very high subject test scores. not sure if i can give any concrete advice because you really never know with these things… like i was admitted honors into other schools but there were some lower tier universities i didn’t get honors for so it’s a real toss up
