UCSB Housing email?

yeah…people that were rejected on either thurs or friday im not sure what time did not get that letter

hmmm…well, the letter was sent pretty late, so it prolly doesn’t mean anything :frowning: but hey…I guess it doesn’t hurt to hope…too much…

which either means one of two things, they havent finished all apps yet and just sent this out to everyone thats still pending or theyre done and we really have been accepted…and us being accepted makes much more sense at this point…i mean the admissions lady told me theyd be done with admissions by the end of this week and if you think about it all of us have pretty good stats…at least good enough stats to get into sb i havent seen anyone with under a 3.0 left which makes me even more sure that they really have finished rejecting all people who simply didnt make the cut due to the competitiveness of the years pool. That being said i think the people like us who had good stats but were missing one thing that made it hard for them to decide are now in because they established that they do have room. it is only a matter of time until they release the decisions. Im not sure when their computer will update but hopefully it is soon.

the letter was sent out after 4 pm when the office closed which means it was sent out after they were done evaluating apps for the day

Dammit bay! You’re lifting my spirits here and making me REALLY hope…nooo…hope is dangerous business!

hahaha well i mean i was pretty pessimistic at first about all of this…but lets be real it makes sense and why cant we have a little faith in ourselves and the fact that we actually might really get into sb? :)

GAH…I’m going insane!!! things sound hopeful though

im confident we will get in…i mean why WOULDNT sb want us there!

that’s true  I mean we are ALL pretty awesome

umm…cause then when we get rejected our hearts crash and burn and crumple into tiny little pieces on the ground where they get stomped on by a porcupine/elephant thing and then blended into mush mixed with tar then used as pavement on the road where they’ll get driven over FOREVER!!!

hahaha yes nicolles, that is EXACTLY what they are doing

that is pretty heavy nicolles… haha
let’s have faith! come on

hahaha…hey it could happen right??? I mean, it’s all part of their master plan to take over the universe…damn them!!

hahahaha you might be right

haha nicolles…before you do all of that…remember that thing called appealing? its not over just yet! even if we do get rejected and appeal we all have pretty strong appeals considering the reason we were rejected isnt because our gpas werent competitive enough it is because of a single class and if we complete that class we have every right to appeal with a good chance of getting in because that is bringing new academic information to light which wasnt there on our initial application…that being said stop being such a pessimist!!!

and if you dont take me as a credible source for this information the ucsb counselor was the one who told me to do this if i get rejected!!

I’m not even missing any pre reqs :frowning: but I think that bay has a really good point!

yeah…I dunno…I believe in fate. If I don’t get in ftw! I’m not appealing anything…I’m not meant to be in California. That’s fine…or atleast, I’ll try convincing myself of that…

I see it as a failure if I don’t get in.
I’m stuck going to a state school (unless my UCSC appeal works).

just out of curiousity, when are appeals due? I mean, is there even TIME to take a class??
