UCSB Housing email?

lol well shellbell you can always appeal with your gpa that your recieve after this semester if it goes up im even thinking of appealing and offering to transfer in winter if they let me i could care less about a semester

no you cant take a class in time before your appeal but you could probably register for a summer class of it and include that in your appeal

nicolles and anyone else, you can take a class over summer and appeal. Last year when I was admitted I had to drop all of my classes my spring semester because I had to go to eating disorder rehab and my UCSB rep said that they let people finish classes over summer and appeal for fall semester. And she said that the appeal usually works if you are successful in your classes but I didn’t have the time to take four classes. I TOTALLY forgot about that until bay mentioned appeals haha, so you still have hope!!

wait! But was this like MAJOR prereq’s? Cause I don’t think it applies to university prereq’s…as in…two english comp classes, one math, 2.5 gpa…etc…

well for me I needed four more classes to put my unit count up to 60 and she said all I had to do was take my classes over summer and then appeal when I was finished. If you don’t get in (I think you will) then contact an advisor and explain your situation, I’m sure it will be the same thing for you.

I think that fact that people got rejected this weekend makes this whole appeal conversation nonsense personally. A few people were told that decisions would be DONE this week first of all, and second of all why would they reject people and THEN send out a housing email to people that they were going to reject, that wouldn’t make any sense.

oh god! 5 more days people 5 more frigging days till UCSB sees U SEE LAWSUIT if we don’t get it! DO IT SB! DO IT!

lol were in. i know it.

hahaha…ok ok…shell… I give up…speculating at this point is nonsense…I REALLY wanna agree with you…it would be a dream come true to get in…the CCS program is AWESOME, especially cause one of the math profs is from Venezuela which is REALLY rare!..I really hope you’re right…

I know!! I wish I applied to CCS… if we get in we HAVE to have a U see lawsuit party when we get there!!!

@jamiel wjhat are your stats

haha…Deal Shell…if we get in we’ll have a huge party! After all, it is UCSB aka the party school :D…and you know, you can always apply to CCS once you’re IN UCSB…like next semester or whatever…

yeah, that’s what I was thinking, I’m going to definitely look into it if I get in

DUDE…I don’t wanna hope, but it would be SO cool if we both got in…I mean you’re a physics major and I’ve totally considered double majoring and stuff…that’d be really cool :)…dammit, here I am hoping again…

ugh I KNOW! I have hope, but I’m trying to not get my hopes TOO high… and I was just thinking the same thing :)

Err, hi. I’ve been lurking, and am just as anxious as anybody particularly now that it’s the 11th hour. Figured I’d finally make an account.

Regarding the email: The UCSB policy fine print specifically states that one may apply for housing prior to acceptance. With that in mind, it’s hard to get too excited - frankly, I think we’re better off pretending it never came down the wire at all. But hey, to each his/her own.

hahahaha hey there lurker.

good luck lurker!

yeah…thanks for bringing me back to earth lurker…

haha valid point Gtarrant but since our fate has probably already been decided a little optimism won’t hurt anything lol

■■■■ What is we hear back today!! The closer it gets to the 30 the more I feel like a little kid on christmas eve lol. When I find out I’m either going to be completely elated or I’m going to go on a week long bender and drink my sorrows away hahaha
