UCSB is not AACSB accredited?

I want to become a CPA and I'm going to transfer schools soon. I'm considering UCSB but it's not AACSB accredited?

UCSB is not listed in business or business and accounting (AACSB Business and Accounting Accreditation).

To become a CPA and eventually work for one of the Big4, does the accreditation matter?

I see that my school (CSU Chico) is not on the Accounting and Business accred… however I know of multiple alumni who have gone on to work in Big 4 accounting firms or gotten summer internships with them.

So maybe all you need is for the school to be business accredited.

In my post, I’m only referencing all the universities in California. AACSB does not accredit two year colleges.

Not sure what ryhend88 is talking about CSU Chico is AACSB accredited for Business. However, they don’t hold AACSB accreditation for Accounting.

Schools that have NOT even applied for AACSB accreditation are those that are NOT listed as members. If you have applied for accreditation you will be on the member list whether or not you have been granted accreditation. But in order to be a member if you do not hold accreditation, the school needs to atleat apply for it. The schools theat have applied and are in the process of obtaining accreditation are on the members list. The schools that are accreditated by AACSB would be on the list of members and list of accredited schools on AACSB site.

UC Santa Barbara is not an AACSB member and of course are not AACSB accredited.

Take a look the info may surprise you.

My school just acquired AACSB accreditation. Hooray!

However, we have had for many years a professional accounting major registered with our state. It allows our graduates to take the CPA exam. And our graduates have been recruited by the big 4 accounting firms for years.
