Haha.
I HATE FAFSA.
They said my mom and I can pay 13,000 a year, yet we have NO money.
***FFFF.
It makes no freaking sense.
I hate it.

I'm screwed.

actually... it's posted on UCSB Financial Aid
click on check your aid status

Can you view the unofficial award letter before you submit your SIR?

i believe you can

and in regards to my previous post, that link is for official financial aid packages but it should not vary much from the unofficial one

I wonder if the aid from UCSB will be similar to the package I got from UCSD...?

i get like 37,000 from UCSC, so hopefully i will get somewhere around the same for UCSB.
i'm praying.

Where can you see the fin aid for UCSC??

they sent me a letter?
didn't you get one in the mail?

No...?

That's odd. Oh well. I'm not going there anyways. It would be nice to know, though.

so we have to officially say we're going to UCSB before finding out our aid info because I'm kinda too lazy to do that now even though I know I'm going there

I got the admittance packet and inside they had a sheet with their offer of financial aid and stuff.

Do you think UCSB is going to have their offer up at Midnight? Or like 7 am?

Do you think UCSB is going to have their offer up at Midnight? Or like 7 am?

^Doubt it'll be up at midnight. Probably more like tomorrow in the morning/afternoon. But that's just my guess.

I don't think I'll be getting much. :( Pretty high EFC. All I got were loans from Cal Poly, so I'm feeling kind of hopeless for UCSB.

^Yeah, Cal Poly was pretty finicky compared to UCSD. I got $7K in just grants from SLO and $14K in grants from UCSD. UCSD is $7K more though, so I guess that defeats my claim.

what's your EFC imgoing2college if you don't mind me asking?

My EFC=$2664

=)

Yours?

My parents are going through a divorce.
So all the assets are tied up.
And they had to count them in.
So my EFC skyrocketed
WONDERFUL.
and it's now 13,037.
Funny thing is, my mom is 50 grand in debt, and we live paycheck to paycheck.
So I don't know if I can go to college :/

^Damn. That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that.
Good luck. =/

Yeah. It's really not fair.
My dad's an abusive homosexual, my mom is clinically insane, my brother is disabled. My entire childhood/homelife is and was completely terrible and getting into UCSB was my one way of getting out and away from it all to make my life on my own, and now that's basically shattered.
I've worked harder than anyone I know to overcome all that crap and get into school, and to have that taken away from me is really.....gah idk.
idk why i even said all that.

i'm gonna go to bed.
today sucks.
